Well, look no further…help is on the way. IIANC is excited to announce the launch of our InsurAcademy this Spring!
InsurAcademy is a first of its kind insurance school that will recruit individuals from outside the industry to join the independent insurance agency workforce and provide them with the necessary licensing education and career training to be “job ready” to go right to work as a CSR after graduation. IIANC recognizes there is room for improvement in increasing minority participation in insurance industry careers and InsurAcademy intends to strongly support our current organizational diversity and inclusion initiatives.
IIANC has developed a high-quality and comprehensive training curriculum that will equip InsurAcademy students with:
- a P&C insurance license
- training to use agency management systems and a comparative rater
- experience completing ACORD forms
- practical training on personal and commercial lines insurance provisions
- soft skills related to customer service
- email and business etiquette
- phone skills, and more!
IIANC member agencies will have an exclusive opportunity to interview and hire the InsurAcademy graduates.
The InsurAcademy program covers a span of five weeks and features both live and on-demand virtual training, enabling students to pursue a new insurance career while still maintaining some flexibility to accommodate current work/life demands. Plus, because all the training is done online through a state-of-the-art virtual platform, InsurAcademy can be attended from anywhere!
Now Accepting Applicants to the Inaugural Program
We are accepting applications now for our inaugural InsurAcademy program which runs April 19 – May 21, 2021.
InsurAcademy is FREE to attend. (That’s right, and it’s not too good to be true!) Thanks to scholarship opportunities from the IIANC Education Foundation, the $1,500 tuition fee is covered for all students in InsurAcademy. We believe students are more successful with “skin in the game” so they are responsible for the costs of the NCDOI licensing application, fingerprinting fees, and state licensing exams.
So, if you know someone that has excellent customer service skills, is a people person, or is looking for a new career path, please share information on InsurAcademy and encourage them to apply! There is an application process which includes a math/verbal assessment and an evaluation of personality traits to help select applicants that meet criteria to be successful candidates.
